Valuables Worth $2,750 Stolen From Car At Manalapan Home

Manalapan police are investigating reports of cars targeted by burglars; catalytic converter stolen.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Car burglaries and attempted car burglaries continue to be reported in the township in the most recent police report:

  • Jan. 5: A Manalapan resident, 33, reported that on Jan. 3, at approximately 3:45 p.m., people entered a vehicle that was parked at an Iris Circle residence and removed items valued at approximately $2,750. Patrolman Hunter Mauro handled this incident.
  • Jan. 4: A Manalapan resident, 35, reported that a person unsuccessfully attempted to enter a locked vehicle that was parked at a Barrister Lane residence. Patrolman Christopher Schou took the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Jan. 4: A Manalapan resident, 65, reported that a person unsuccessfully attempted to enter a locked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Cherry Hill Lane residence. Patrolman Sean McCarthy took the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Jan. 4: A Manalapan resident, 30, reported that a catalytic converter, valued at approximately $1,500, was stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a Deer Way residence. Patrolman Joseph Santomarco handled the report.

Other incidents reported by police include the follow:

  • Jan. 9: Employees of the Regency at Manalapan, 15 Sofia Drive, reported that sometime during the overnight hours of Jan. 8 someone burglarized a structure and removed items valued at approximately $9,857 from a construction site. Patrol Officer Jean Marie Kaminski handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Jan. 5: Employees of the Homesense Department Store, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that a 50-year-old, unmarried, unemployed, female resident of Englishtown, attempted to shoplift items valued at $199.99. The woman was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being issued a summons. Patrol Officer Jean Marie Kaminski was the arresting officer.
  • Jan. 4: Patrolman Kyle Williams responded to the Jackson Township Police Department and took custody of a male resident of Jackson, 27, regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000. The man was processed and subsequently transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.
