Car Stolen From Diner Parking Lot: Manalapan PD Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Sept. 15 to 21.

On Friday, September 17, 2021, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a 77-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor had made several fraudulent withdrawals from the victim’s bank account. The fraudulent transactions were refunded. Patrolman Kyle Earley took the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, at approximately 6:47 p.m., a 21-year-old resident of West Windsor responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that a trailer registration plate was unlawfully removed while parked at Andee Plaza, located at 130 Route 33 in Manalapan Township. Patrolman James Guarino took the report.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, at approximately 1:31 p.m., a 66-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor(s) filed an unemployment claim using the victim’s personal information. There was no monetary loss reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Jeff Emslie handled the report.

On Thursday, September 26, 2021, at approximately 12:53 p.m., a 67-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a business located in Texas did not complete work as agreed upon resulting in a $2,250 loss. Patrolman Kyle Williams took the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 9:52 p.m., a 46-year-old Colts Neck resident reported a vehicle, described as a 2020 black BMW X7, stolen from the parking lot of the Manalapan Diner, located at 48 Route 9 in Manalapan. The keys were reportedly left inside the vehicle. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 6:53 p.m., a 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving harassing and threatening phone calls from a male subject whose identity is unknown. Patrolman James Guarino handled the incident.

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 4:47 p.m., a 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor tried to file for unemployment in the victim’s name and tried to open a checking account in the victim’s name. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled this report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 9:25 a.m., a 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving a harassing text message from an unknown telephone number. The victim believes that this incident was part of a scam and there was no further contact made with the actor(s). Patrolman Christopher Oleksy took the report.
