Clark Mills School May Highlights

May highlights from Clark Mills School.

The following school highlights were supplied by Irene Policastro, the secretary to Superintendent John Marciante.

Character Counts

The Clark Mills Chorus entertained the children and staff at two school assemblies. The chorus program beautifully integrated important character education messages. Students sang, danced, and played musical instruments throughout the show. Families and friends enjoyed the evening performance as well. We thank Cristina Chan, vocal music teacher, for an outstanding performance.

Busy Month for our Orchestra and Band

The Beginner and Intermediate Orchestras performed their spring concerts for students, faculty, family and friends under the direction of Ms. Shannon Chase. Our Beginner and Intermediate Band, under the direction of Mr. Hans Muhler, entertained the audiences with favorites. The orchestras and bands also traveled to MEMS to showcase their talents in an evening performance for family and friends. We are very proud of our talented musicians!

PTA News...

  • The talented parents of our PTA hosted a staff luncheon in celebration of Teacher Recognition Week. The food, decorations and atmosphere were a treat for all! Also, each day the PTA recognized the staff with tokens of appreciation. Wouldn’t you like to meet each day with a special treat like a chocolate in your mailbox? A certificate of recognition? It sure did make everyone feel special and so much appreciated.
  • Students’ homes were brightened because of the recent purchase of blooming flowers at our PTA sponsored Mother’s Day Plant Sale.
  • The Student-Faculty Challenge on May 24th proved to be a fun afternoon for participants and spectators alike. The students and faculty team competed in a series of relay race events! The challenge ended in a tie. What a great way to spend a May afternoon! A big thank you to all our staff and parent volunteers!

Clark Mills Has Spirit

Clark Mills sure does have spirit! The Clark Mills Student Council created a fun spirit week for all! Students and staff came in red, white and blue in honor of Memorial Day, wore mismatched clothes and even came to school in their pajamas! We had a blast!

Field Day

A beautiful day it was! The weather cooperated and the children enjoyed participating in the events planned by our PE teachers, Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. Byrnes. Staff and parent volunteers certainly contributed to all events running smoothly.
