Fraud, Shoplifting, Motor Vehicle Fire: Manalapan Police Blotter
Six fraud incidents were reported to Manalapan Police from Sept. 18 through Sept. 24.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, shoplifting, a motor vehicle fire, and more from Sept. 18 through Sept. 24.
Sept. 18
A 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported someone attempting to defraud them for $3,950 online. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident.
Sept. 19
A 50-year-old Manalapan resident reported someone defrauding them for $7,380 online.

Sept. 20
A 48-year-old Howell resident reported someone fraudulently trying to use their debit card. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident.
A 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported being defrauded for $1,000 via PayPal.

A 71-year-old Manalapan resident reported being defrauded for $70,000 by a residential contractor for renovations to a Denise Court home that were never completed.
Sept. 21
Employees of Best Buy located at 15 Route 9 in Manalapan reported that James J. Damico, 51, of Yonkers, New York, shoplifted $1,949.98 worth of items and fled the store.
Damico was found at a motor vehicle stop on Taylor Mills Road and arrested.
He was then transported to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released without posting bail.
Sept. 22
A 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone stole a vehicle worth $260,00 that was parked on Country Oaks Drive. The vehicle was later recovered in New York.
Eduardo Gonzalez, 32, of Brick, was arrested at a motor vehicle stop on Wilson Avenue for an unnamed motor vehicle violation. Gonzalez was arrested after being found to have a warrant issued by the Manasquan Borough Municipal Court for $750. Gonzalez was brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.
Sept. 23
A 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone made fraudulent purchases for $1,639.69 using their debit card.
A 70-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone removed the contents of a $1,080 package that was delivered to a Cross Slope Court home.
Patrolman Vincent Rubino responded to Route 9, in the area of Ryan Road, for a report of a motor vehicle fire. The Gordons Corner Fire Company and the Monmouth County Fire Marshall responded to the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the nature of the incident did not appear to be suspicious.
Sept. 24
A 51-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone stole a vehicle worth $5,500 that was parked on Pension Road.
Patrolman Vincent Rubino responded to the Camden County Justice Complex and took custody of Rhasheda D. Edgerton, 42, of Mount Laurel, regarding a warrant issued by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court for $1,500. Edgerton was processed and brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in place of bail.
Tracey Daugherty-Goerlic, 56, of Allentown, was found to be driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash on Sweetmans Lane. Daugherty-Goerlic was arrested and brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where she was processed and released after being issued summonses.
