Golf Clubs Stolen From Old Bridge Player During Manalapan Outing

Golf clubs valued at $2,500 were stolen from a golfer at Battleground Country Club in Manalapan, police report.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A golfer at Battleground Country Club had his clubs stolen there recently, Manalapan police reported.

On Aug. 22, an Old Bridge resident, 40, told police that someone had stolen his golf clubs, valued at approximately $2,500, while at the country club. The club is at 1 Covenhoven Road in Manalapan.

The matter is being investigated. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo handled the report.

In other Manalapan police reports, Deputy Chief Leonard Maltese reported these incidents:

  • Aug. 21: A Manalapan resident, 77, reported that an unknown person had fraudulently used their banking information to make $3,000 worth of unauthorized purchases. Patrolman Hunter Mauro handled the report.
  • Aug. 18: A Manalapan resident, 29, told police an unknown person sent them a fraudulent check to cash in an attempt to access their bank account. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident. Patrolman Capuzzo handled the report.
  • Aug. 16: A Manalapan resident, 42, told police reported that an unknown person stole a credit card from the mailbox of a Lafayette Mills Road residence and then made purchases in the amount of $1,000. Patrolman Anthony Cascella handled the report.
  • Aug. 16: A Manalapan resident, 66, told police that a 61-year-old Manalapan resident stole a cell phone valued at $220. Patrolman Cascella handled the report.

All matters are being investigated.
