Learn How To Help The Bluebird Population At Manalapan Program
A Manalapan Environmental Commission workshop Jan. 21 will help participants learn how to attract the helpful bird.

MANALAPAN, NJ — We're all excited about the holiday season, but for those who are already looking forward to spring, consider getting a taste of a new season at a workshop on bluebirds.
The Manalapan Environmental Commission and The New Jersey Bluebird Society will have a Bluebird Workshop on Jan. 21, beginning at 10 a.m. at Manalapan Community Center, 114 Route 33 West.
It seems Eastern Bluebirds are a boon to society. They help control backyard mosquitos naturally.

Their populations are making a comeback after years of decline, the organizers of the workshop say.

"Learn how to attract these beautiful birds to your yard or nearby trails. It is easier than ever and a great family project," the organizers say.
The free bluebird workshop will also cover how to build a bluebird box and how to become a citizen scientist through monitoring bluebird boxes.
