Manalapan Obituary: Alma Lee Ham, 85

Interment will take place at Old Tennent Cemetery on Wednesday.

Alma Lee Ham, 85, of Manalapan, peacefully passed away on June 22 at home. Born in Vernon, Florida, her family moved to New Jersey in 1938. Alma was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Ham; their son, Peter Ham; her parents, Charles Sr. and Arline Godbolt; brother, Alexander Godbolt Sr.; and sisters Easter Mae Savage and Gloria Godbolt-Anderson. She is survived by her children, Gladys Ham-Taylor, Christine Hollingsworth, Barbara Araya, Michael Ham, Helene Townsend, Deborah Whitt, Lorraine Ham, Sandra Ham, Fonda Alfano, Trina Majewski, and Nicole Rice; daughter-in-law, Linda Ham; two brothers, Charles and Richard Godbolt; and one sister, Wiladean Shirland; three sister-in-laws, Lillian Hendry, Wilma Greason, and Shirley Godbolt; brother-in-law, John David Ham; 23 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitations will be held from 9AM - 10:45 AM on Wednesday, June 26, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Rd., Freehold, NJ 07728. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Bethel A.M.E. Scholarship Fund in Alma's memory. Arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
