Manalapan Teen Saves Boy From Choking With Heimlich Maneuver
Edoardo Russo was at the Freehold Mall when he noticed a boy who was choking. With no training he managed to perform the Heimlich Maneuver

MANALAPAN, NJ — No one ever trained 13-year-old Edoardo Russo to to perform the Heimlich maneuver, yet he managed to save a boy's life recently doing just that. Township officials commended the teen on Wednesday for his actions.
Russo was at the Freehold Mall when he noticed a boy who was choking.
The boy was with his mother and before Russo even sprung into action another adult who was nearby tried to help but was unsuccessful.

Russo then performed the Heimlich maneuver, saving the boy's life. He remembered seeing a poster in the nurse's office about it and "just knew something had to be done," according to a statement from the Township of Manalapan.
On Wednesday night, Manalapan Mayor Jack McNaboe and the township committee recognized Russo for his "courageous actions."
