More Than $53K in Jewelry Stolen from 2 Manalapan Homes

The jewelry was taken over a period of time, police said.

The Manalapan Police Department is investigating two home thefts where thousands of dollars worth of jewelry were stolen. 

According to police, assorted jewelry and a scarf valued at about $21,530, were stolen from a Maremanna Drive home between June 6 and June 21. The victim, a 55-year-old woman, contacted police on June 24 at around 9 p.m. to report the theft. According to police, there was no indication of forced entry into the home.

A similar theft was also reported on June 24 about 6 miles away. A 66-year-old woman who lives on Dartmoor Drive told police that $31,700 worth of jewelry has been stolen from her home over the course of 9 months. The woman told police that only certain family members have had access to the home during the time. The missing items included diamond earrings, a ring, and three watches, police said.
