Scarecrow Contest Will Turn Into Drive Through In Manalapan
The deadline to enter is Oct. 15 and a tour guide will be posted on the recreation department's website by Oct. 20.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan residents interested in building a scarecrow can enter into a townwide contest that will feature their creation in a drive-through attraction.
The deadline to enter is Oct. 15 and a tour guide will be posted on the recreation department's website by Oct. 20.
Winners will be announced on Oct. 28 at the Manalapan Parks & Recreation Monster Mania event. They will receive gift cards from local vendors.

Judges will include the Manalapan Township Committee and members of the Misfit Theatre Company.
There will be three categories: Just for kids (any kids characters or themes), traditional (plaids, hay and burlap style) and thrills with chills (scary or spooky themed).

Only homemade scarecrows will be be accepted. They must be durable, resist wind and rain and be able to stand by either leaning on a fence or sticking on the ground. They also have to be between 4 and 7 feet tall
Participation is $10 per entry. Registration is available online here.
The address of the scarecrows will be posted online for those interested in the drive-through.
