Theft, Warrant Arrests, Fraud: Manalapan Police Blotter
Three incidents of theft were reported to Manalapan Police from Sept. 11 through Sept. 17.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Multiple incidents of theft, warrant arrests and fraud were reported to Manalapan Police from Sept. 11 through Sept. 17.
Sept. 11
A 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving an email that asked them to transfer $2,000 in Bitcoin. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident.
Sept. 13
Employees of the Klein Property Management / Elmwood Park HOA reported someone re-creating and altering a check for $35,533.03.

Danilo Rivas-Ayala, 30, of Elizabeth, was arrested at a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 in Manalapan for an unnamed motor vehicle violation. Patrolman Ryan Brady arrested Rivas-Ayala after he was found to have a warrant issued by the Woodbridge Municipal Court for $1,500. Rivas-Ayala was brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters before being turned over to the Woodbridge Police Department.
Sept. 14
A 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported paying $1,100 for renovations to a Globar Terrace home that were never completed.

Sept. 16
A 40-year-old Manalapan resident reported someone stealing items valued at $200 from the roof rack of a vehicle.
Employees of the Mashalls located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan reported someone deceiving an employee during a transaction for $990.12.
A 64-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving a suspicious email. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident.
Sept. 17
A 34-year-old Manalapan resident reported a former co-worker harassing them over text.
Manalapan Police took custody of Nicole Smith, 44, of Somerset, after she was arrested by NJ State Police on a warrant issued by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court for $2,000. Smith was brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in place of bail.
A 68-year-old Freehold resident reported that sometime between 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., a purse and its contents (valued at $790), were taken from their shopping cart while at the Wegmans on 55 Route 9 in Manalapan.
