Vehicle With Trailer, Worth $50K, Stolen In Manalapan: Police

Manalapan police report the theft of a vehicle and trailer from the Englishtown Auction, along with other thefts, frauds.

MANALAPAN, NJ —A Toms River resident had a vehicle - with its trailer - stolen from the Englishtown Auction, police said.

Police, in a weekly crime report, said said that on Sunday, Dec. 17, the victim of the theft reported that someone had stolen the vehicle and trailer, valued at about $50,000.

It was parked at the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Ave. in Manalapan, police said.

Patrolman Matthew Schwartz took the report, which is pending further investigation.

  • Dec. 18: An Elizabeth resident, 40, reported that sometime during the previous two days, an unknown person stole a ladder from a construction site on Franklin Lane. Patrolman Matthew Schwartz handled report.
  • Dec. 15: A Manalapan resident, 50, reported that two people were observed smashing the rear window of a vehicle that was parked on Longwood Drive. Patrolman Matthew Schwartz handled the report.
  • Dec. 14: Employees of Homegoods, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that an unknown person stole $357.98 worth of merchandise from the store. Patrolman Marshall Bitsko handled the report.
  • Dec. 14: Employees of Home Sense, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that an unknown person stole $554.94 worth of merchandise from the store. Patrolman Marshall Bitsko handled the report.
  • Dec. 14: A Chesire, Conn., resident reported that an unknown person stole Airpods, valued at approximately $200, while at the Sportika facility, 150 Woodward Road on Dec. 12. Patrolman Jeffery Emslie took the report.

Instances of fraud were also reported:

  • Dec. 15: A Manalapan resident, 66, reported that unknown person used the victim’s personal information to make approximately $16,000 worth of fraudulent unemployment claims. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy took the report.
  • Dec. 14: An Old Bridge resident, 34, reported that a business was fraudulently used to direct deposit $1,631.74 into an unknown account. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis handled the report.
  • Dec. 13: A Freehold resident, 26, reported that a business check in the amount of $10, 099 was fraudulently obtained and cashed by an unknown person. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo handled the report.

All matters are being investigated.
