Watch Out For Phone Scammers Posing As Manalapan Police

The scammers are asking residents to share personal information with them over the phone, police said.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police are warning residents to watch out for phone scammers pretending to be police and trying to steal personal information.

According to police, residents receive a call from the Manalapan Police Department's main phone number (732-446-4300) during the scam.

Once residents pick up, police said the scammers proceed to request personal information from residents.

Police are urging residents to hang up if they receive any calls of this nature.

"That is not us," Manalapan Police said. "If you receive a call similar to that, please hang up and ignore it."
