Woman Arrested In Theft Of Wallet In Manalapan Store Parking Lot

A New York woman is charged with stealing a wallet in the Target parking lot in Manalapan.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A New York woman was arrested on May 6, charged with theft of a wallet in the Target parking lot, Route 9 in Manalapan, according to a police report.

A Manalapan resident, 63, reported the theft of a wallet in the parking lot to police.

Police then located Andrea Kravacek, 44, Jackson Heights, New York, police said. She was placed under arrest, and brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters, according to police.

She was charged with theft of property, hindering apprehension, and possession of fraudulent government identification, police said in a weekly crime report.

Kravacek was then brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, pending a court date, police said.

Patrolman Michael DeCristofaro was the arresting officer, police said.

Other wallet thefts were reported in the weekly crime report prepared by Deputy Chief Leonard Maltese:

  • On Thursday, May 4, a Neptune resident, 31, told police that a wallet and its contents, valued at approximately $4,300, were taken while the person was shopping at Marshalls Department Store, Route 9 in Manalapan.
  • On Saturday, May 6, a Maine resident, 63, told police that someone stole a wallet containing $200 in cash and various credit cards, also while the person was shopping at the Marshalls Department Store, Route 9.

Other incidents reported by police include:

  • On Tuesday, May 9, a Matawan resident, 44, told police that someone broke a window to a vehicle while it was parked at the Towne Pointe Shopping Center, Route 9 in Manalapan, and removed items valued at approximately $1,100.
  • On Saturday, May 6, an employee of the American Legion Post 434, 11 Sanford Street in Manalapan, reported that someone used paint to vandalize the baseball field bleachers.
  • On Tuesday, May 9, a Manalapan resident, 64, reported being defrauded by an unknown person in the amount of $204.95 by gaining access to a benefits program.
  • On Tuesday, May 9, a Manalapan resident, 77, told police that unknown person attempted to defraud them in the amount of $223.15 by sending them a fraudulent phone bill.
  • On Thursday, May 4, a Marlboro resident, 64, reported that unknown person used their personal and business information to apply for a loan in the amount of $150,000.

All incidents are under investigation.
