Work Planned On Englishtown Roads Through End Of Month

Motorists should be aware of detours on several roads in Englishtown, as paving and milling will take place though June 30.

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — Milling and paving of area roads will take place now through June 30, borough police reported.

The work will go on from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. No work will be done on Saturday or Sunday.

The following streets are in the project:

  • Tennent Avenue/Route 522: Entire length.
  • Main Street/Route 527: Between Tennent Avenue/Route 522 and the entrance to the Old Bank at 14 Main St.
  • Harrison Avenue: Entire length.
  • Hamilton Street: Between Harrison Avenue and Main Street/Route 527.
  • Center Street: Between Harrison Avenue and Main Street/Route 527.
  • Dey Street: Entire length.
  • Main Street/Route 527: Between Center Street and Gordons Corner Road/Route 22.
  • Gordons Corner Road/Route 22: Between Main Street/Route 527 and the borough border with Manalapan.
  • Wilson Avenue/Route 527: Between Gordons Corner Road/Route 22 and the entrance to the Village Center Strip Mall.

The work will require the closing of the roadways at different times during the two-week construction period.

Detours will be in place, if necessary. If no detour is in place, road traffic can move through a construction area, but motorists should follow the "Move Over Law" that requires motorists to move over one lane or reduce speed and be prepared to stop in a construction area.
