Belmar To Resume Offering Senior Activities Next Month

The borough is offering monthly coffee get-togethers and weekly board and card game meetups.

BELMAR, NJ – Belmar officials announced the return of the borough’s senior get-togethers beginning in October.

The senior get-togethers will begin with a monthly “Coffee Morning” and a weekly board/card game day. All events will occur at the Taylor Pavilion on Ocean Avenue, and all borough seniors are welcome to attend.

“We are going to begin our return to normal, slowly, cautiously, and with a view of providing a safe social environment,” Mayor Mark Walsifer said in a statement on the borough’s website.

The “Coffee Mornings” take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the following dates:

Thursday, Oct. 14
Wednesday, Nov. 17
Wednesday, Jan. 19
Wednesday, Feb. 16
Wednesday, Mar. 16
Wednesday, Apr. 13
Wednesday, May 11

The board/card game days will be every Monday from 12:30-2:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 4 until May 9, 2022.

Both activities will resume following a summer break in September 2022.

Interested parties must register on the first date of the event and must agree to comply with all necessary state guidelines.
