Manasquan Schools Get Another COVID-19 Case

Manasquan High School has had a new COVID-19 case. Here's what you should know.

MANASQUAN – Manasquan High School is reporting another COVID-19 case.

The district said that a Manasquan High School student received a positive COVID-19 test result. The newly identified student was last in the building on Thursday, October 22 and last at an outdoor extracurricular activity on Saturday, October 24.

While confidentiality restrictions prevent the district from sharing additional details, upon notification of the positive test result, Manasquan immediately engaged in contract tracing to determine if the student had close contact with any other individuals at school, said Superintendent Frank Kasyan.

Several close contacts of the infected individual were identified and have already been contacted and are now quarantined in accordance with Health Department protocols.

The district encourages parents and students to please continue following the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention promoted safeguards, including:

  • Staying home when you are sick;
  • Washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds;
  • Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues;
  • Limiting close contact with people who are sick and not sharing food, drinks and utensils;
  • Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart);
  • Wearing a face covering while in school; and
  • Continuing to monitor your health for symptoms.
