Manasquan High Goes To Full Remote Learning Due To COVID Cases
Manasquan High School has switched to full remote learning because of three coronavirus cases.

MANASQUAN – Manasquan High School has switched to full remote learning because of three coronavirus cases, officials announced this week.
The district was notified that another student in Manasquan High School received a positive COVID-19 test result. This is the third notification of a high school student this week with a positive test for COVID-19, said Superintendent Frank Kasyan.
The school will be remote through Oct. 19.

Kasyan emphasized that the district has no information that these cases are related in any way. In fact, the available information indicates that all these students were infected from separate sources outside of school, he said.
Nevertheless, in consultation with the Monmouth County Health Department, the district feels the most appropriate and safest course of action is to close Manasquan High School only for in-person instruction and transition to fully remote learning for a period of 14 days.

This remote-only learning period began Thursday and will run through Monday, October 19 with an anticipated re-opening on Tuesday, October 20.
This affects Manasquan High School only. Manasquan Elementary School will operate normally for in-person instruction as scheduled.
"We are currently investigating the need to suspend other school extracurricular activities. However, as of this writing, outdoor athletic activities including practices and games will continue as scheduled during the remote learning period unless you are otherwise notified," Kasyan said.
Due to the indoor nature of standardized testing, the previously scheduled ACT tests being held this Saturday are canceled. PSATs that were scheduled for high school juniors in school on October 14 are also cancelled.
During this remote learning period, the high school building itself will be open if students need to retrieve materials, access technical support, etc. Teachers and other educational support personnel may choose to work from home or work at school. Administrators, support/clerical staff, and custodial staff must still report to work.
