Today In Belmar And Manasquan

An ozone action day and a reading at the Public Library.

Good morning, Belmar.

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 and the state Department of Environmental Protection says it may be a tough day for some sensitive groups. The DEP is warning that there will be high levels of ozone in the air today, making it difficult to breathe for the very young and the very old.

“Sensitive individuals, including the young, elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon and evening hours,” the DEP says.
