2 Injured As Driver Hits 3 Homes In Manchester

The driver backed into one home in Leisure Village West then pulled forward and hit two others, Manchester police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Two women were injured Saturday when a driver backed into one home in Leisure Village West, then pulled forward and hit two more homes, Manchester police said.

Anne Broking, 84, and Theresa Mcweeney, 88, both of Manchester, were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Capt. Albert Vega said.

The crashes happened shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday, Vega said.

Broking was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry and backed into the home where Mcweeny was, Vega said. First responders were able to rescue Mcweeny from the home, he said

Broking then pulled forward and hit two more homes, he said. She had to be extricated from the car, he said.

Emergency medical technicians from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services responded along with firefighters from Manchester Township Volunteer Fire Company and Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Company, Jersey Central Power & Light and Priced Rite Towing.

Patrolman Brendan Brush of the department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating.
