Manchester Township Marching Band 2nd at Yamaha Cup
The Marching Hawks were solid in their fourth week of competition.

The Manchester Township Marching Hawks came away with their third top-2 performance of the fall season, beating out a tightly bunched field for second at the Yamaha Cup competition at MetLife Stadium Saturday.
Manchester was second only to Weehawken—the same band that beat them out at Edison to start the season—in Group 1A, the smallest division in US Bands.
With a score of 71.775, Manchester beat out six other bands this week, including Bernards High School, which was less than half a point behind.

The second-place finish comes a week after Manchester took first in Group 1A at Toms River East, sweeping best music, best visual, best effect, best color guard and best percussion in beating out Shore Regional.
The Hawks’ also performed at their home show on Sept. 21, but in exhibition only.

Manchester still has a busy fall ahead, with five competitions still to go, including the US Bands New Jersey championships at Rutgers on Oct. 20 and Nationals at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, PA on Nov. 9.
