Police Wanted: Manchester PD Seeks New Officers
Manchester police are seeking applications for patrolmen and part-time special officers in the township, department officials said.
MANCHESTER, NJ - Manchester police are seeking applications for police officers in the township, department officials said.
The township is seeking applicants for patrolman and part-time Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) positions, complete with benefits, enrollment in the police and firemen's retirement system and continuous training and education.
Applicants are required to be a New Jersey resident over the age of 18 and hired on or before their 35th birthday, a U.S. citizen, with a minimum of an Associate’s degree or two years of full-time college credits (can be substituted for active military service) and have a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

Applicants must also have no criminal history and possess a “good moral character,” according to the application website.
All candidates must complete a physical agility test on Saturday, July 22. You can view the score sheet here.

Those who successfully complete the test will move on to the written exam, set to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. (registration at 5 p.m.)
An extensive background check, interview and physical including drug testing and a psychological exam will also be conducted before hiring.
