Warming Center Moved, Power Still Out In Manchester
Authorities and Jersey Central Power & Light officials say there is no solid estimate of when power will be restored.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Residents without power are being urged to go to Manchester Township High School on Monday night for warmth as a power outage affecting more than 5,000 homes continues.
Manchester police sent an alert about 8 p.m. notifying residents the warming shelter had moved to the high school.
The high school is at 101 Hawks Way, and pets are welcome at the shelter, police said.

More than 5,000 homes and businesses have been without electricity since 8:30 a.m. after an issue at the substation on Station Road, according to Jersey Central Power & Light. Five circuits are affected, according to the outages website.
Christopher Hoenig, a JCP&L spokesman, said crews are at the substation and working to resolve the outage. There was no timetable for when power will be restored, he said.
Hoenig said the power had been out since at least 8:30 a.m. Monday, though some residents who contacted Patch and commented on social media said they lost power around 7 a.m. and had been without heat because their homes were heated with electric heat.
Temperatures had risen to just 31 degrees as of 3:30 p.m. and had been in the single digits early Monday. The afternoon wind chill was 20 degrees.
"We are anticipating full restoration won’t be completed until tonight," Hoenig said.
The power outage is affecting businesses in the area as well. Call before you go.
