• Shamong voters reject $25 million bond referendum; Mantua question too close to call (inquirer.com) — Mantua Township’s $39.1 million school bond referendum is currently too close to call, with just a 23-vote gap between supporters and opponents in preliminary tallies. The proposal would fund major repairs and classroom additions at all three K-6 schools and could raise the average homeowner’s property taxes by about $336 a year if it ultimately passes. 
• Gloucester County Launches Holiday Drive Sober Initiative (snjtoday.com) — Mantua Township police will join departments across Gloucester County in a stepped-up “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign running through New Year’s Day, funded by state traffic safety grants. Expect more patrols and possible checkpoints aimed at deterring impaired driving, as county prosecutors and local chiefs coordinate to keep holiday travel safer on area roads.
