2 People Dead In Essex County, Police Investigation Continues

There is no imminent threat to the Maplewood community, authorities said.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A police investigation into the deaths of two people in Maplewood continues, authorities announced Monday evening.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said it is investigating two fatalities involving adults in the township, which took place on Friday.

The cause and manner of death are pending the results of autopsy and toxicology reports, prosecutors said.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available at this time,” a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said.
