Camp Fair In Maplewood Will Highlight Options For Local Kids This Summer
Too soon think about summer? Organizers of an upcoming camp fair in Maplewood say one camp is already full. See the options.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — One former Girl Scout Camp in the Adirondacks is now a non-profit organization allowing Maplewood girls to learn swimming, sailing, and camp survival skills for a week each summer (and offering financial aid). Several other summer camps are closer to home in North Jersey.
Many of them will appear at a free SOMA (South Orange-Maplewood) camp fair run this Sunday in Maplewood from 1-4 p.m.
Among the camps, Camp Riverbend is "already full," say organizers, but check to see if that changes.

Among those expected to attend are: the South Mountain YMCA camp, day care camps for younger kids, Jeff Lake Day Camp, Wonder Why Science Camp, Maplewood Recreation camp, and many others.
The town of Maplewood and SOMA Adult School often offer a bevy of low-cost summer programs for all ages each year as well, but typically announce them closer to summer.
