• Maplewood Nets $700K Grant To Restore Local Landmark (patch.com) — Maplewood has secured a $702,850 state historic grant to restore The Woodland, the landmark cultural hub in the heart of Maplewood Village. The funding will support structural roof upgrades, door and window restorations, and removal of aluminum siding, with local officials praising the Historic Preservation Commission’s work and celebrating the building’s future as a vibrant community venue.
   

• South Orange-Maplewood Girl Scouts Design A Very Beary Holiday Season (villagegreennj.com) — Girl Scouts from 31 troops across South Orange and Maplewood just finished decorating a record 432 teddy bears and 179 stuffed dogs to brighten the holidays for children served by regional nonprofits. Maplewood-based coordinators say the long-running project has become a beloved local tradition, building empathy and creativity from Daisy scouts through Columbia High School seniors.
