Car Hits 2 Juveniles In Maplewood; 1 Hospitalized: Police
The driver stayed at the scene, and was issued summonses for failure to yield to pedestrian and careless driving, Maplewood police said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A car hit two juveniles in Maplewood earlier this week, sending one of them to the hospital, authorities said.
According to the Maplewood Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Prospect Street and Oakland Road at 7:52 a.m. on Monday after getting a call about a car-pedestrian strike.
Officers determined that the vehicle was traveling south on Prospect Street when the driver hit two pedestrians.

Authorities said one juvenile and their parent were transported to a nearby hospital, where the youth was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The second juvenile’s parents declined medial transport.
The driver – who remained at the scene after hitting the youths – was issued summonses for failure to yield to pedestrian and careless driving, police said.
