Grand Opening For Maplewood Library Will Include Family-Friendly Activities

The newly renovated and expanded Maplewood Memorial Library is almost ready for its grand unveiling. Here are the event details.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A grand opening event for the newly renovated and expanded Maplewood Memorial Library will take place on Saturday, July 5.

An opening ceremony and ribbon cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m. at 51 Baker Street. Family-friendly events and programs will take place throughout the day until 5 p.m.

According to the library’s website, some features of the new facility include:

  • A state-of-the-art Create Space
  • A fully equipped Community Room for programs and events
  • Quiet Study and Collaborative Rooms
  • New public computers and a Business Center
  • A dedicated Children’s Program Room
  • Plenty of seating and outlets
  • Solar panels and Green Roofs

Hilton Branch remains a full-service library for adults, teens and children, library administrators pointed out.

At Hilton Branch, visitors can:

  • Access books and materials for adults, teens and kids
  • Pick up and return your BCCLS holds
  • Use a public computer
  • Print from a computer or from your device
  • Sign up for a library card (bring proof of Maplewood address)

Guests can still access digital resources and Elibrary with their library cards. Registrations must be up to date and fines below $10.
