MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years.
July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

First off, here is what's planned for Maplewood and South Orange:
Youth Bike Parade, 10 a.m.

Maplewood and South Orange families are invited to participate in the Youth Bike Parade at 10 a.m. The Parade starts at Ricalton Square, Maplewood and ends in Memorial Park North. Refreshments will be served. The town says, "Be sure to have the kids decorate their bikes with streamers and other fun and festive items."
Two Town Pool Parties, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
South Orange and Maplewood Pools are open to all residents of either town Current pool members can still bring guests from outside of the towns, paying regular guest fees. South
Orange Pool will host inflatables, balloon animals, corn hole games and more. Free red, white & blue bomb pops for the first 500 visitors.

Here's what's in store this July 4 in the Maplewood/South Orange area:
