Young Star Chef, Of 'Cooking With Jacob,' Is Part Of Maplewood Fundraiser This Friday
A nonprofit that helps educate Maplewood and South Orange youths is again hosing its fundraiser "Night of 100 Dinners," with famous chefs.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Achieve, a nonprofit that raises funds to help educate and support young people in Maplewood and South Orange, is running its annual "Night of 100 Dinners" fundraiser from Friday through Sunday, featuring events such as a cooking demonstration with young star chef Jacob Case of Maplewood.
Over the weekend, volunteer hosts open their homes or yards to serve meals to guests, who then donate to Achieve.
The funds benefit the hallmark Achieve Volunteer Tutor Program, educator grants, STEM initiatives, the arts, programs impacting the schools, and more.

Besides dinners at private homes, the organization is hosting events such as the online family-friendly event this Friday Make Your Own Tortilla Pizza, courtesy of “Cooking With Jacob.” Jacob Case is a fifth grader at Seth Boyden School whose love of cooking grew during the pandemic. He gained a social media following and inspired a cookbook.

On Sunday morning, the group has organized Build-a-Biscuit Brunch with Chef Jason DeBriere. DeBriere, who has worked alongside famed chefs like Jonathan Waxman and Martha Stewart, perfected a legendary brunch at Peels restaurant in New York City.
