Kids And Adults Can Add To Mural Project In Maplewood This Week
Through Saturday, you can "celebrate who we are and take up some colorful space of your own inside the 'banks' of this river," artists say.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — "Making art is always about starting a conversation," say the organizers of the community-based mural project, "Rivers," in Maplewood. Through this Saturday, July 23, they've invited people to sign up online for a timeslot to paint their own part of the project.
"You are invited to participate in 'Rivers,' the Yale and Springfield Avenue Corner Mural Project, conceptualized by local artists Barbara M. Bickart (Fire in the Belly Artmaking) and Andrew Dean, together with 15 of our young local artists," organizers say.
The project is sponsored by the Springfield Avenue Partnership through the Neighborhood Preservation Program.

Bickart and co-facilitators Jennifer McClory and Katey Darago."
Sign up to add a "doodle design" or your own, or one that they provide.
