Maplewood Adds Days Off For Eid, Spring Election To School Calendar For Current Year
The South Orange-Maplewood schools will close for two holidays that were added last month to the school calendar for spring 2023.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — At the South Orange-Maplewood school board meeting last month, the board approved two new days off on the school calendar for holidays later this school year.
The 2022-2023 calendar has since been amended to include the following holidays: Eid-al-Fitr and Election Day.
Eid-al-Fitr starts the evening of Friday, April 21. That will be a day off. Eid-al-Fitr marks the breaking of the fast at the end of Ramadan.

Primary Election Day, Tuesday, June 6, will be another day off.
