Maplewood Girls To Run In 5K For A Good Cause: Come Watch

The organizers encourage Maplewood residents to cheer the girls on as they run for an organization to help girls achieve their dreams.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Come out and cheer on Maplewood’s Girls on the Run team (third to fifth graders) and Heart and Sole team (sixth to eighth graders) as they run a 5K at Memorial Park (580 Valley St., Oakview and Valley) this Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Mayor Frank McGehee of Maplewood will kick off the race with some words of encouragement and congratulations to the girls.

"After eight weeks of training for a 5K while discovering their potential, learning about themselves, building confidence, inspiring one another, and being the superstars that they are, Saturday is their day to shine," said the organizers.

They added, "Don’t miss out on the fun of being inspired by these amazing individuals."
