Maplewood School Evacuated After Gas Main Break: Authorities
The gas main break also caused road closures in the area, Maplewood police said.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A school in Maplewood was evacuated on Thursday due to a gas main break, authorities said.
All students and staff members have been evacuated safely out of Maplewood Middle School, police announced at 11:24 a.m.
The break affected an area in front of the school, which is located at 7 Burnet Street.

Maplewood Middle School will be closed for the rest of the day for safety reasons, authorities said. Students and staff have been relocated to Columbia High School.
Baker Street is shut down completely from Burnet Street to Maplewood Avenue, and drivers should find an alternate route, police said in an update at 4:27 p.m.
