Authorities have released more details about a tragic "murder-suicide" that took place in Essex County over the summer.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Authorities have released more details about a “murder-suicide” that took place in Maplewood over the summer.
On Wednesday, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced an update on the tragic deaths, identifying the deceased as Kathleen Constantino,73, and her husband, Michael Constantino, 71.
Maplewood police responded to a home on the 400-block of South 4th Street on July 11 to conduct a welfare check, finding the Constantinos’ bodies at the scene.

An autopsy determined that Kathleen Constantino died from stab wounds, prosecutors said.
Michael Constantino died from an antifreeze overdose. His death has been ruled a suicide, authorities said.

“No additional information is being released at this time and the investigation into this matter is now concluded,” prosecutors added.
