Police say detectives arrested a Parsippany resident on Dec. 18, charging the individual with multiple counts of criminal mischief before releasing them pending a court date.

Maplewood Families Seek Help After Loss of Home to Fire (villagegreennj.com) — Several Maplewood families lost their Jacoby Street homes in a December 20 fire that left a multi-unit building behind Seth Boyden School uninhabitable, though everyone escaped without injury. Neighbors are rallying support through GoFundMe pages for Brianna’s family and for Aroune and Michaela, helping them replace essentials, find new housing, and begin rebuilding their lives after losing nearly everything, including a beloved cat.

3. Maplewood Police Holiday Toy Drive Sets New Record (tapinto.net) — Maplewood’s Police Department just wrapped one of its most successful Annual Toy Drives, partnering with local DCP&P offices to brighten the holidays for about 150 children. With help from township employees, local businesses, Columbia High School students, and community groups, officers collected and wrapped toys while using the event to build stronger connections with Maplewood youth.

Maplewood Leaders Denounce Antisemitism, Gun Violence at Final Meeting of 2025 (villagegreennj.com) — Maplewood’s Township Committee used its December 16 meeting to strongly condemn antisemitism and gun violence while reaffirming support for local Jewish residents. Leaders highlighted a community menorah lighting in Ricalton Square, a new gun storage ordinance for Maplewood firearm owners, and a shared commitment to keeping the township safe, inclusive, and united heading into 2026.
