What's Happening On Memorial Day In Maplewood: Parade, Duck Race

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — To commemmorate those who served and died in sacrifice to our country, the Township of Maplewood will again hold a Memorial Day Parade this year.
The parade will begin 9 a.m. this Monday, stepping off at Parker Avenue between Prospect and Maplewood Avenues by the Columbia High School parking lots.
The parade route continues up to Maplewood Avenue, through Maplewood Village, down Baker Street slightly and under the Baker Street Bridge then left onto Dunnell Road past the train station, according to a website. Then, it heads right onto Oakview Avenue, through the park, across Valley Street to the front of the Maplewood Municipal Building for a ceremony.

Also that day is the annual YMCA Duck Race.

It will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Park (map) on the banks of the river.
