Driver In Marlboro Hits Telephone Pole, Overturns

MARLBORO, NJ — A car overturned after striking a curb and a telephone pole in Marlboro on Monday night, according to police.
The crash brought down power lines on Route 79 in the area of Bucks Lane.
The car came to a rest on its side. Behind the wheel of a Mercedes SUV was a 46-year-old male from Middletown who was driving a Mercedes SUV.

He was transported to a local hospital by members of the Marlboro First Aid Squad as a precaution. The Marlboro Fire Department also responded to the scene due to the nature of the crash.
Route 79 was closed between Stevenson Drive and Vanderburg Road and was reopened Tuesday morning.

The crash is still being investigated by Ptlm. Brian Peterson of the Marlboro Township Police Department Traffic and Safety Bureau.
No criminal charges were filed or are expected to be filed, police said.
