Marlboro Bicyclist Hospitalized After Deer Struck His Head: Police

MARLBORO, NJ - A bicyclist in Marlboro was hospitalized Sunday morning after a deer attempted to hurdle over him, but instead struck his head, police said.

The man was traveling on Wyncrest Road near Windfall Lane around 9:30 a.m. when the deer ran out of the woods and tried to jump over the cyclist but missed, a witness told police.

The man, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center with head and facial injuries, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the deer sustained any injuries.

An update on the cyclist's condition was not available as of Monday morning.
