Morganville Woman Honored As Local 'Coronavirus Hero'

MORGANVILLE, NJ — Earlier this week, Patch asked our readers to submit any local "coronavirus heroes," people who are going above and beyond during this time and may not be getting the recognition the deserve.

And a Manalapan resident nominated Cari Junkierski, of Morganville.

What does the nominee do for work?
Cari Junkierski is a Guest services representative at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Lakewood.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Cari is a guest services representative at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lakewood, supporting over 130 patients throughout her full-time work week. Cari braves the potential risk of infection from COVID-19 on a daily basis while working with the nurses and patients, and is always proud to support those in need. She has to wear protective gowns, face masks and a face shield at work to protect herself from infection. Because of the potential risk of exposure, she has completely sacrificed being around her family and friends.

Cari is a natural caregiver and is the most generous person I know to her family and friends. Throughout this pandemic, she never hesitates to make dinner for others in need and drop them off at their front porches, and she also continually provides support to her 97-year-old grandmother by dropping off toiletries and food supplies to her at her nursing home.

Cari deserves to be honored as a "Coronavirus Hero," and I cannot thank her enough for all she is doing to continually support her community, her family and her friends.
