Mulch Pile At Marlboro Border Catches Fire

Firefighters arrived to find a blaze coming from a mulch pile​ at a recycling yard.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A fire broke out at a recycling yard near the Holmdel and Marlboro border early on Thursday, according to the Morganville Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find a blaze coming from a mulch pile at the facility.

The call about the fire happened at around 2:30 a.m. and was initially directed to Holmdel first responders.

Because of the proximity to Marlboro township, the Morganville fire department was also called, along with the Holmdel Fire & Rescue Company #2.

Firefighters remained on location for about two and a half hours as heavy machinery was called in to assist in the overhaul of the mulch pile.
