Marlboro Township Councilwoman Carol Mazzola wants those who are hard of hearing to get some help.
On Thursday, she reminded residents that they can attend a presentation on Jan. 7 at the Marlboro Recreation Center and learn how to get a free CapTel Caption Telephone. CapTel Outreach coordinator Erin Howard will give a short presentation on the phone, which is designed exclusively for people with hearing loss.
The phones work like any others, but include a monitor to display captions of what a caller is saying, similar to closed captioning on television. The phones have large color display screens, and answering machine, caller ID amplified sound and large speed dial buttons, said Mazzola.
