OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Matawan firefighters just extinguished a barn fire on the 60 block of John Partridge Road Monday afternoon. That is a woodsy area, and technically in Old Bridge Township.

The fire broke out in a barn, where no animals were being kept, said Matawan Fire Chief Tim Clifton. The fire started in an old barn, which was empty, near a farmhouse.

The fire did rise to three alarms, but that is because the Matawan Fire Dept. is light on manpower on Mondays, he said.
