Corporal Kevin Thomas to Lead Matawan's Memorial Day Parade
The parade is on Sunday and Corporal Thomas will be the grand marshall

Corporal Kevin Thomas, a lifelong resident of Matawan, will lead the 2012 Matawan Memorial Day Parade on Sunday.
The will start at 2 p.m. at and will continue along Route 79 across Route 34 and onto Main Street in Matawan. The march will, coincidentally, continue by Corporal Thomas' home and end at Memorial Park, where a ceremony will be held.
Thomas, 26, is a veteran of the United States Marines who served two combat tours in Iraq.

"I joined in Oct. 2003, then shipped out to bootcamp July 26, 2004," Thomas served for four years, from July 2004 to July 2008.
He marched in the 2011 Memorial Day Parade and was nominated for the role of grand marshall by his sister.

"I believe my sister Rachel saw something in the local news, saying nominate the grand marshall. She put together a little portfolio and sent it in," Thomas said.
All veterans are welcome to march in the parade.
