Keyport Man Hit, Killed By Car On NJ Turnpike
He had just been involved in a collision Monday morning on the Turnpike, and gotten out of his car when he was hit, said State Police.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Keyport man was hit by a car and killed on the NJ Turnpike early Monday morning, after he got out of his car after being involved in an accident.
Albert Masonius, 32, a Keyport resident, was killed on the NJ Turnpike southbound in South Brunswick Township, New Jersey State Police said.
At 4 a.m. Monday, he was driving a Nissan south on the Turnpike when he collided with a Toyota minivan. The collision caused the Nissan to become disabled in the center lane of the Turnpike. A separate collision occurred prior to the initial crash and a Kia SUV then struck the Nissan that was sitting in the middle of the Turnpike.

Masonius got out of the Nissan and was standing in the left lane when he was hit by a Toyota SUV traveling south. Masonius sustained fatal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time, said NJ State Police.
