Limo Used In Fatal Shooting; Its Driver, Old Bridge Woman, Gets Prison
An Old Bridge woman working as a driver for a limo company was sentenced to 18 years in prison, after her passenger shot and killed a man:
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A 44-year-old Old Bridge woman who was working as a driver for a limousine company was sentenced to 18 years in state prison, for driving the getaway car used in a fatal shooting.
The Old Bridge woman, Cheryle Lugo, 44, was sentenced Friday. Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca announced Monday she had been sentenced.
She previously pleaded guilty on Oct. 15 to one count of conspiracy to commit murder. She must serve at least 85 percent of that sentence before being eligible for parole.

At the time, Lugo worked for a limousine company located on St. Georges Avenue in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, NJ.com reported.
The fatal shooting happened at 11:40 p.m. on October 25, 2019, in the Oakwood Plaza apartments in Elizabeth: Police say Lugo was driving a Chrysler 300 limousine that night, and a passenger in her car fatally shot Jamile Robbins, 19, of Elizabeth.

She drove the limousine away from the scene, said police, effectively making it the getaway car.
To this day, the actual shooter has never been found.
The Union County Prosecutor praised Lugo's sentencing.
“While this sentencing does not bring Mr. Robbins back, we hope it comes as some small solace to his loved ones,” said Daniel.
