Liquor Store on Highway 35 Burglarized Early Wednesday, Police Say

A quantity of cash and cigarettes were reported missing by the owner

Aberdeen Township Police are investigating a burglary at the Buy Rite at the intersection of Highway 35 and County Road, according to Chief of Police John Powers. 

Shortly after 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, an alarm sounded at the liquor store, Powers said. Officers responding to the scene found a rear door slightly open.

The owner reported that a quantity of cash and 25 cartons of cigarettes had been taken, Powers said.

Surveillance video at Buy Rite showed two males entering the store through the rear door and heading over to the cash register area, according to Powers. The men reportedly left the store in under a minute.

Police described the suspects as two black males, adding that, "One male had a stocky build and a hood pulled over his face. The other subject had a thin build and was wearing a black baseball cap."
