Police: $5K in Aluminum Reported Stolen from Cliffwood Avenue Business

A look at what incidents Aberdeen Police responded to between June 12 and June 18.

The Aberdeen Township Police Department responded to or initiated 267 calls for service between June 12 and June 18, 2013, according to Police Chief John Powers. The incidents included 13 suspicious persons or vehicles, 25 alarms, 15 first aid calls, 12 motor vehicle crashes, four thefts, four domestic violence incidents, four disorderly persons, two noise complaints, one assault, two burglaries and 70 motor vehicle stops. Officers also issued 62 motor vehicle summonses.

Here is a sample of some of the activity that occurred: 

  • On June 12 it was reported that a quantity of aluminum valued at approximately $5,000 was taken from a business on Cliffwood Ave.  Special Officer Ronald Osadacz took the report.
  • On June 12, a Toms River resident reported damage to his vehicle while parked on Beverly Drive. Officer Matthew McDow responded.
  • Officer Edgar Serrano took a report of interference with custody at Avalon apartments, Central Ave. on June 14.
  • On June 14, a resident of Arlene Terrace reported the fraudulent use of her credit cards. Officer John Young investigated.
  • A Netherwood Drive resident reported the theft of her wallet containing cash at the WaWa store, Hwy. 35, on June 15. Officer Matthew McDow responded.
  • On June 16, an Old Bridge man reported damage to his vehicle while parked at Wagner’s Marina, Amboy Ave. Officer Darryl Richardson responded.
  • On June 17, Det. Manny Carabel responded to a report of harassment on Beaver Place.
  • Police are investigating the burglaries of two homes and a suspicious sighting in the “I” section of the Strathmore development on Monday June 17, 2013. 
  • On June 18, a resident of Ivy Way reported the theft and fraudulent use of her mother’s credit card. Officer Darryl Richardson investigated.
