Man Hit On Rt. 1 In Woodbridge, Police Say

A man was hit while walking on Rt. 1 north in Woodbridge Township Saturday evening.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A man was hit while walking on Rt. 1 north in Woodbridge Township Saturday evening, said Woodbridge Police Director Joseph Nisky.

The man, a 48-year-old Brooklyn resident, was hit by a car at 7:16 p.m. Saturday. He was struck while walking on Rt. 1 northbound at Avenel Street.

He was airlifted to University Hospital in Newark and as of Sunday, police have no updates on his condition. The car that hit him remained at the scene and no charges were filed.
